Hate Crime Awareness Week takes place from 9th to 18th October 2021 and Nottingham City Council have developed a series of information events that are being held online.

Launch session for Nottingham Hate Crime Awareness Week – understanding and reporting hate crime -11th October 2021,  9.30am – 11.30am

Nottingham City Council portfolio holder Cllr Neghat Khan introduces the week’s activity.  This will be followed by a hate crime awareness training session, hosted by police hate crime officer.  In response to requests, the training will cover understating what a hate crime is, the reporting processes and why it’s important to report hate crimes and incidents.

This session has been developed from the awareness and hate crime champion training developed in partnership between Nottingham City Council and the Police over the course of the last three years.

Open conversations, listen to lived experiences of hate exploring the impact and reluctance to report. All the conversations will be held on zoom.
