Nottingham Revenue and Benefits Networking Event

An excellent networking opportunity for Nottingham City Council and its partners to get together with organisations involved with Revenue and Benefits, in order to promote joint working practices and information sharing.

Citizens Advice (Advice Nottingham)
Help to Claim is a national service being delivered by Citizens Advice supporting people to make a Universal Credit claim – from initial claim through to first full payment.

DWP Fraud & Investigation Workshop
Learn about the roles and powers of Benefit Fraud Investigators while also doing a ‘mock’ interview under caution to understand the criminal standards they work to.

DWP Investigations & Compliance
Discuss what makes a quality referral and the importance of ensuring that claims are correct from the onset to avoid any fraud and debt.

DWP NINO (National Insurance Number) Team
Understand why people require NINO and why the checks are so stringent.

DWP Visiting Team
Discover how home or hospital visits can be arranged through DWP or charitable organisations if people need extra help to claim benefits.

HM Revenue & Customs
Talk to tax professionals from HMRC

HPS (Homelessness Prevention Service)
Their aim is to prevent homelessness and avoid the damaging effects on citizens and communities.

Nottingham City Homes – Tenancy Sustainment Team
Helps tenants work out a budget and manage their money if they are having difficulties.

Nottingham & Notts Refugee Forum
Find out about the practical advice, information, support and friendship offered to refugee and asylum seekers in Nottingham.

Nottingham Law Centre (Advice Nottingham)
Provide appointments/advice for people with issues relating to housing, debt, welfare benefits and employment.

NPRAS (Nottingham Private Rented Assistance Scheme)
Supports homeless families to find accommodation in the privately rented sector.  They offer support to landlords who work with them and support families to ensure their tenancy is sustainable.

Universal Credit (UC)
Talk to a range of UC staff about how Universal Credit works and the help and support available through job centres and partner organisations.
