Introduction to Construction two week training course

Nottingham Skills Academy are offering a two week Introduction to Construction training course for Nottingham residents aged 19+ and currently unemployed. The course is aimed at those interested in working in a site-based construction role for example, site logistics operatives, maintenance operatives, groundworkers and highways maintenance operatives.

The aim of this course is to give a thorough introduction to a variety of topics essential to working in construction. These topics include:

  • bricklaying
  • block paving
  • manual handling
  • health & safety and fire awareness
  • using personal protection equipment (PPE)

Course participants will develop an understanding of the construction sector considering Health and Safety legislation and welfare, construction technology and working as part of a group, plus other vocationally-relevant topics and experience practical training on basic block paving and bricklaying.

Courses start every two weeks.
